The dog
I found myself in Acaxochitlán.
It is one of the 84 municipalities of the state of Hidalgo, in central-eastern Mexico.
There was fog there and there was this stray dog.
Acaxochitlan has three languages; Nahuatl, Spanish, and Otomi. The atmosphere, maybe because of the fog, was like magical. And that dog was like to meet a spirit.
That look that reaches you and me, a photograph that I carry inside of that place where I will return.
Lia ungeschminkt
Mit Lia habe ich mittlerweile schon mehrere Projekte umgesetzt. Hier wollten wir ganz natürliche Portraits ohne Make-up und Styling machen. Da hat es sich auch super angeboten diese Serie analog zu fotografieren. Wir haben hier ein kleines Homeshooting gemacht und sind dann zum Sonnenuntergang noch auf ein Feld gefahren. Mir macht es immer sehr viel spaß wenn man mit einem Menschen öfter vor der Kamera zusammenarbeitet. Es entstehen ganz andere Bilder wenn sich Fotograf und Model schon vertraut sind.

Als ich das erste mal in diesem Treppenhaus stand, wusste ich, hier würde ich shooten wollen.

Beach vibes
sometimes it’s lonely
Years ago I was forced to leave my beloved studio by someone who convinced the owner of the building it was in that it would be a good idea to turn it into an event location. So I had to look for a new studio. In my search I found an abandoned office near my house, the owner liked my work and gave me the space for a symbolic price. I wasn’t very lucky with the location as I love natural light but the windows were small. But in Germany we say "you grow with your tasks". My job was to take pictures under less than ideal circumstances.
Now that I’ve left this studio, I miss it and the opportunities it had, despite all the limitations it had.
