Like everywhere else in the world, it rained a lot on the tip of the Medoc Peninsula in the winter of 2023/2024. There were no storms or catastrophes, but the landscape was completely flooded and the wintry nature suddenly had its charm.

Since nature had no colors, I took a series of high-contrast black and white photos.

The Médoc is a triangular-shaped peninsula in the Gironde department in southwest France, which lies between the Atlantic coast (Côte d'Argent) on the Biscay, the Gironde estuary and the Arcachon sea basin.

The tip of the Medoc is the triangular part of the country between the Gironde, the Gironde estuary and the ocean.

The sparsely populated Medoc Peak is characterized by a balanced microclimate. The unique nature between the Gironde estuary and the long sandy beaches of the Ocean is a true paradise for many bird species that are no longer found anywhere else.

But many horses can also be found here. It is not for nothing that part of it is called the “Camargue” of the Medoc

Viel zu lange hat es gedauert, wieder einmal auf dieser wunderschönen Insel zu sein. Eine Woche Ende März VOR den Osterferien, und so war es überschaubar leer. Das Wetter war typisch Friesland. Nach einer Nacht mit ergiebigen Regenfällen war die Luft am nächsten morgen so klar, dass es die wahre Freude war, mit der Kamera loszuziehen. Ich genieße dieses All-Ein-Sein mit Wind, Strand und Meer. Formen, Strukturen, das Komponieren von Bildausschnitten; ein nie versiegendes Füllhorn an Möglichkeiten. Die Bilder sind rund um den Leuchtturm ganz im Norden der Insel entstanden. Der Strand lädt zu ausgiebigen Spaziergängen und fotografischen Entdeckungstouren ein. Leider, wie es so ist, war die Woche viel zu schnell rum, aber wir kommen wieder. Natürlich mit der Kamera.

Buenos Aires has an old quartier named San Telmo with many old, colonial styled townhouses, sometimes defined as PH’s (ie “horizontal property”). However wonderful and labyrinthine they are, the most distinctive space is always the terrace on the top floor and roof.

I had the chance to explore one with Eunice Balbi and take some shoots. Shabby, sunbathed and lovingly filled with old charm.

Das, was mich als Fotograf am meisten fasziniert, sind neblige Landschaften. Wenn Bäume, Sträucher, ganze Bergzüge vom Nebel in eine mystische, ja fast surreale Szenerie getaucht werden, bin ich in meinem Element. So ein Bild bot sich mir letztes Jahr am Naturdenkmal Hochfels bei Stadlern im Oberpfälzer Wald. Ich kam im Zuge einer Fotoreportage über die Oberpfalz hier eher zufällig vorbei, und musste einfach meine Kamera auspacken. Der Hochfels prägt als markant herausragende Felsrippe, bestehend aus "Cordierit-Silimanit-Gneis", das umliegende Gelände. Regelrechte Blockfelder und Einzelblöcke bilden zusammen mit der Heidevegetation diese reizvolle Landschaft. Ich fühlte mich sofort an Emily Brontës Roman STURMHÖHE erinnert.

Mallorca – Hauptinsel der spanischen Balearen im Mittelmeer. Ca. 3.604 km² gross und ca. 915.000 (2020)

Im Zeitraum Januar bis Juni 2023 sind bereit 9,2 Millionen Touristen eingeflogen worden.

Es ist in der Hochsaison tatsächlich gar nicht so einfach die stillen Momente in einer der kleinen Städte einzufangen. Ich habe mir aber die Zeit genommen und hier ein paar Ergebnisse.

Diese wunderschöne Insel ist so viel mehr ….

Fotodestination: möglichst nicht weit weg

Landschaftsfotograf?: ähm, bedingt schon, nicht so ganz wie er im Buche steht

Der Typ Landschaftsfotograf welcher nicht so ausgesprochen neugierig auf die Welt ist, die meiste Zeit nicht reist sondern lieber so "um die Ecke" fotografiert wenn's irgendwie geht, in diesem Fall als Berliner, fährt dann halt nach Brandenburg und beäugt die Landschaft. Irgendwann einmal auf der Zugreise wird er wachen Auges merken, dass er die sonst ziemlich ebene Landschaft passiert hat und blickt auf ein Meer an Hügeln. So ähnlich war das irgendwann einmal im Jahre 2012 oder vllt. auch 2013. Dann beginnt er diese sonst, als Passant gesehen, recht ereignisarme Gegend zu durchstreifen. Und weil er nun auch fotografieren will, beginnt er sich auf ein Thema zu fokussieren. Und das sind dann eben Äcker, Masten, Hügel und Himmel. Und ein bisschen was von dem zeigt er heute voller Vertrauen in die Gnade der Community. tbc if aprecciated

The Ligurian mountains, located on the Italian Riviera, are known for their rugged and steep terrain, making them a unique and strange landscape compared to many other mountain ranges. These mountains rise up from the Mediterranean Sea and are home to a variety of plant and animal life, as well as ancient villages and towns nestled into the hillsides.

One of the strangest features of the Ligurian mountains is their geology. The rocks that make up these mountains are a mixture of marble, schist, and other metamorphic rocks, which have been transformed over millions of years through heat and pressure. This has resulted in a strange and varied landscape, with jagged peaks, steep cliffs, and deep valleys.

In addition to their geology, the Ligurian mountains are also home to a number of bizarre and unique plant species. Many of these plants have adapted to the harsh climate and rocky soil of the region, developing unusual features such as spines, succulent leaves, and waxy coatings to protect against the dry heat and salt spray from the sea.
