A favorite model I’ve worked with sometimes goes by Dream… she found me on social media and was ready to dive into the deep end on our first shoot. We went to a favorite derelict urbex spot in the heart of downtown, and she fearlessly launched into posing nude, having only modeled a time or two before. She took direction well, but was also excellent at moving and improvising her flow. In subsequent studio sessions, she did equally well, working with light and space, and creating beautiful forms.
I also like to "work a shot" sometimes and have the model hold a pose for a while as I try different camera positions, lenses, lighting, settings, and ideas, and Dream would hold her pose, and take direction for fine-tuning without breaking the overall pose.
Always a great attitude, funny and lively, but took the work seriously… a dream subject.
Sadly, she moved a few states away, so we haven’t had the chance to work together much recently, but I’m hoping to rectify that this summer. Thanks Dream!

Intervention: „reality check“ at AKT2019!
The "Dresden forum for contemporary photography" staged an exhibition of nude photography at the Art Venue blaueFABRIK throughout the month of April. Works of 4 STRKNG photographers were accompanied by an satellite exhibition of PORTRAITS Hellerau Photograph Award. More Photographers were invited to an Open-Art-Space over the Easter weekend to create original artworks, that is inspired by the exhibition. I invited a pole dancer as my model for that occasion. During the weekend we created three series called Reality Check I-III, that were on display at the closing day of the exhibition:
I – interprets the pictures on the galery walls
II – uses traditional medium format photography on expired film as a contrast to high definition digital production
III – the pole dance live session makes use of the stage- and strobe lights of this original music venue.

Hidden Faces
The series "Hidden Faces" was inspired by my own (hobby-)model time. At that time (2012) it was very important to me to protect my identity when taking nudes. The world is becoming more convervative, images are spreading very quickly on the Internet. Nudity or Fine Art Nude Photography is not always considered art, but shameless or worse. Professional or private disadvantages can arise for people. That is why it is important to me to protect the identity of my models, especially because they are normal people and not professional nude models. As a photographer I approached nude photography in a playful way and used various "objects" to hide faces. Anonymous nude has a special appeal for me, because it is challenging to stage the naked person without revealing his oder her face.
