I am completely against censorship, and especially self-censorship. This applies particularly to nude photography.

Mutilating images because some "community rule" demands it affects our art and the freedom to create images as we wish.

The red lines in the other pictures are not intended as censorship, but rather as a playful exploration of the topic of self-censorship. Furthermore, the issues of anonymity and the handling of female physical characteristics are points for me to consider here.

Ich bin absolut gegen Zensur, insbesondere gegen Selbstzensur. Dies gilt speziell für die Aktfotografie.

Bilder zu verstümmeln, weil eine vermeintliche „Gemeinschaftsregel“ dies verlangt, beeinträchtigt unsere Kunst und die Freiheit, Bilder nach unseren Vorstellungen zu gestalten.

Die roten Linien in einigen der Bildern sind nicht als Zensur gedacht, sondern als spielerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Selbstzensur. Darüber hinaus sind die Fragen der Anonymität und des Umgangs mit weiblichen Körpermerkmalen Punkte, die ich hier zeigen möchte.

Der Titel nennt den Namen einer Filmsimulation, welche sich bei meiner Fuji GFX 100II voreinstellen lässt. Das bedeutet, ich simuliere einen früher erhältlichen analogen Film, zu dem es heißt, er habe seinen Ursprung im japanischen Kino. Zudem heißt es, der Look solle vergangene Zeiten beleben.

Vielleicht gelingt mir dies beim Shooting mit Ivanka. Es findet in einem Tinyhaus statt, das neben dem modernen Trend zu dieser Hausgestaltung auch ein „altes" Flair zeigt. Das halte ich für geeignet, diese Simulation im 4:5-Format zu zeigen.

Mein Dank geht an das geduldige Model.

Tulpenstaub. Der Name hat mich gleich gefangen genommen. Hier trägt Tulpenstaub Flügel, präsentiert sie in schwarzweiß, in dunkler Kulisse.

Und doch ist sie es, die das Monochrom farbig erscheinen lässt, das Dunkel hell. Es ist ihr Wesen, ihre Ausstrahlung, die mich gefangen nimmt.

Angel in the Dark, Engel in der Dunkelheit; das ist Licht vom Himmel.

No one is perfect, and no body is perfect. While your skin appears perfect superficially, skin blemishes and other marks show if you look closely. That’s only natural. Our skin, the largest and most visible organ in the human body, protects us from the environment and plays an essential role in our physical appearance. Sometimes, our skin sustains damage, injuries, and scars. Wear them proudly and appreciate them as reminders received in the line of duty.

We have diverse body shapes because of our heritage, age, genetic makeup, lifestyles, and other factors. Social conventions might suggest that some bodies are more perfectly shaped than others, but body shape is subjective and fluid.

Unlike many other nude photography styles, one appeal of artistic nude photography can be empowering. It is more accepting of body shape and size, whether curvy or slim, older or younger, pale or dark complexion, etc. Perfection is not always essential; body and skin imperfections can add to the impact and narrative.

With modern, sophisticated photo editing software, indulging in skin retouching and manipulating body shape can be tempting. Whether you choose to do it and to what extent is the artist’s decision. Unlike documentary and journalistic photography, artistic photography does not impose authenticity.

Ultimately, successful artistic nude images are the culmination of hard work, creativity, skills, and a little luck. Art is created. It would be a shame not to allow others to share and appreciate it.
