Rubjerg Knude Fyr

This series of images was taken on 22nd and 24th of September 2020 on Rubjerg Knude, an approximately 50-metre-high shifting dune between Lønstrup and Løkken in northern Jutland. I have visited this place several times on my travels since 2006.

I have often stood on the dune for hours in strong winds for each photo shoot to enjoy the view and the surroundings of this magical place – and of course to capture it in photos.

The light here is particularly impressive in the early or late hours of the day and it changes in seconds. You have to pack yourself and your cameras well if you want to stay and enjoy the place for long enough.

Every visit to this place clears your head and clarifies your thoughts. You leave there as a light-hearted and free person.

About the subject: the lighthouse went into operation in 1900. It and its outbuildings were overrun by the dune in the early 1990s. In October 2019, the lighthouse was moved 70 metres towards the inner land.

The greenhouse collection

The greenhouse collection - Blog-Beitrag von Fotograf KjTaylor_Fotografik / 12.02.2024 12:05

Last autumn i finally got the opportunity to experiment within an old greenhouse which is in our garden. The windows are dirty and some broken. I wanted to use these defects to create some mystery. We used some spot lights to make hard shadows and reflections. It was after darkness and the temperature had dropped to about 5C so time was limited, however I am happy with the results and hope to do more shoots in the greenhouse before its renovated.

Model Lauren braved the cold and brought life to the images.

Tree Fascination

Tree Fascination - Blog-Beitrag von Fotograf Ben Gunn / 16.04.2022 07:30

To climb an old tree in heels to unite and connect with it in many ways seems to be a fascinating thing. The feeling of rough or smooth surfaces on the naked skin, the wood smell of strong branches and juicy leaves, and of course, the light. The green filtered, leave shadowed, sun rayed, ever changing light inside a tree crown is truely one of the most fascinating impressions for photo creators. Silhouette shadow printing on nakes skin forms entirely new shapes of body and face, framing branches line up with soft skin and high perspectives stretching figures into edless dimensions of beauty. No wonder so many models are feeling the need to climb a tree, it amplifies all the beauty and grace.

Save the environment, protect the woods!

Ruins

Ruins - Blog-Beitrag von Fotograf Curtis Joe Walker / 27.11.2021 08:00

I worked with traveling model, Brittany Bochart to create these images on location in the middle of the Nevada wastelands. The site of a defunct concrete factory, mysterious structures rise from the dust. Damaged by fire, explosion gunshots and graffiti, the place exudes a tranquil desolation that inspired our session.
